Protect Our Wetlands Animated Poster

For my Typography II class, we were tasked with creating an animated poster in After Effects that aligned with one of the four categories: Advocacy + Social Justice, Play, Manifesto Statement, and Utopia/ Dystopia.
As someone who is passionate about issues relating to climate change and animal conversation, I decided on the topic of protecting our nation's wetlands.
I felt inspired to create a poster advocating for protecting our wetlands after reading this National Geographic article. This lead me to doing further research on the wetlands of the United States, particularly those of North Carolina. Researching wetlands of this state helped me settle on the animals, reptiles, insects, and plant life I wanted to use for the imagery of the poster. From this point, I began sketching and ideating on potential poster layouts.
After finalizing my imagery and poster layout, I began animating. My goal in adding motion to the poster was to make sure I was giving more life to climate change issues, specifically the importance of protecting our wetlands. I illustrated this with a live sketching animation that slowly brings the wetlands creatures to life.
